Stansted Airport Duty Free Information
Croatia
Travellers are exempt from customs duty for goods of a
non-commercial nature which they carry in their personal luggage up to the value
of K300. In addition, the following goods may be taken into Croatia without
incurring customs duty:
200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos or 250g of tobacco; 2l of wine
and 1l of spirits and 2l of liqueur; 250ml of eau de cologne and perfume up to
50g.
Note:
(a) Articles of archaeological, historical, ethnographic,
artistic and other scientific or cultural value require an export licence issued
by the Croatian authorities. (b) When crossing the state border, travellers must
report to the police weapons and ammunition they are bringing in.
Cyprus
The following goods may be
imported into Cyprus without incurring customs duty:
200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 250g of tobacco; 1l of spirits (over 22 per
cent volume) or 2l of fortified wine or sparkling wine, 2l of still wine; 50g of
perfume and 250ml of eau de toilette; goods (excluding jewellery) up to €175
(within that limit Finland allows a maximum of 16l of beer per person.) The
limit is reduced to £90 for travellers under 15 years of age to all EU countries
except Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK.
Prohibited imports:
Agricultural products and propagating
stock, such as natural fruit, flowers, seeds etc. without the approval of the
competent authorities; the importation of a number of other articles such as
uncooked meat, fish and dairy products, animals, fire arms and explosives,
pirated or counterfeit goods, obscene publications is also prohibited or
restricted.
Czech
The following goods may be
imported into the Czech Republic without incurring customs duty:
200 cigarettes or 100 cigarillos or 50 cigars or 250g tobacco (if over 16
years of age); 1l of spirits and 2l of wine (if over 18 years of age); 50g of
perfume or 250ml of eau de toilette; gifts up to a value of €175 (if over 15
years of age) or €90 (if under 15 years of age); foods, fruits, flowers and
medication for personal use.
Note:
The export of cultural heritage pieces is only possible with
prior approval by the Czech Ministry of Culture.
Finland
The following items may be
imported into Finland from non-EU countries without incurring customs duty:
200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 250g of tobacco or 100 cigarillos; 2l
of alcoholic beverages of less than 22 per cent by volume or 1l of alcoholic
beverages of more than 22 per cent by volume, 2l of sparkling wine and 16l of
beer; 50g of perfume and 250ml of eau de toilette; 100g of tea or
40g of tea extract and essence and 500g of coffee or 200g of coffee extract or
essence.
Except for fuel, a passenger from another EU state is allowed an unrestricted
amount of products that are aquired for own use. The tax-free importation of
tobacco from countries which acceded to the EU as of May 2004 is restricted
during a transitional period:
Czech Republic: 200 cigarettes or 100 cigarillos or 50 cigars or 250g tobacco;
Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovak Republic and Slovenia: 200
cigarettes;Estonia: 200 cigarettes or 250g of tobacco.
Note: The import of
alcoholic beverages over 22 per cent is only allowed by persons aged 20 years or
over; alcoholic beverages up to 22 per cent may be imported by persons aged 18
years or over.
Restricted items:
The import and export of certain foods, plants, medicines (must
be accompanied by a doctor's note), firearms and works of art are subject to
certain restrictions and formalities. The import of drinks containing more than
60 per cent alcohol by volume is prohibited.
France
The following goods may be imported into France without incurring
customs duty by passengers 17 years of age or older arriving from non-EU
countries:
200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos or 250g of tobacco; 1l
of spirits over 22 per cent or 2l of alcoholic beverage up to 22 per cent;
2l of wine; 50g of perfume and 250ml of eau de toilette; 500g
of coffee or 200g of coffee extract; 100g of tea or 40g of tea extract;
medication: quantities corresponding to the needs of the patient; other goods up
to the value of €175 (€90 per person under 15 years of age);
Restricted items: (a)
Plants and plant products. (b) Meat and meat products from Africa. (c)
Pharmaceutical products (except those needed for personal use). (d) Works of
art. (e) Collectors’ items and antiques. (f) Gold jewellery: other than personal
jewellery below 500g in weight must be declared.
Germany
The following goods may be
imported into the Federal Republic of Germany without incurring customs duty by
visitors arriving from countries outside the EU:
200 cigarettes or 100 cigarillos or 50 cigars or 250g of tobacco; 1l
of spirits with an alcohol content exceeding 22 per cent by volume or 2l of
spirits or liqueurs with an alcohol content not exceeding 22 per cent by volume
or 2l of sparkling or liqueur wine; 2l of any other wine; 50g of
perfume or 250ml of eau de toilette; 500g of coffee or 200g of coffee
extracts; personal goods to the value of €175.00.
Note:
(a) The tobacco and alcohol allowances are granted only to those
over 17 years of age. (b) Wine in excess of the above allowances imported for
personal consumption and valued at less than €128 will be taxed at an overall
rate of 16 per cent.
